Introduction from new "Web Content Manager" and a start to the history of the "Resurrection Lutheran Church Web Site"

Hello,
   My name is Stuart "Stu" Nelson. I am Valerie Nelson's husband. I have recently volunteered to do the job of the new "Web Content Manager".  The "Outreach Committee" has been given the responsibility for the creation of and continuing management of the Church web site. The "Committee" has actively been looking for someone to take on the responsibility of managing the content of the "Resurrection Lutheran Church Web Site". I am now retired and “have all the time in the world” to help out with this noble undertaking.

   A bit of history as I know it:  The Church Council sent the job of getting the web site up and running to the “Outreach Committee”. Sometime later, Peter “PJ” Peterson (on a volunteer basis) did an excellent job of designing the web site over a couple of hours on 09-11-2007 and on 09-12-2007 notified the “Committee” that a prototype of the site was up and available for them to view. He solicited their comments on 09-12-2007 about the prototype web site design via email contact through his Mom, Chris Peterson, who is a member of the “Outreach Committee”.  During the next week, Val was speaking to me about the volunteer job of “Web Content Manager” and on 10-19-2007 I sent an email to Peter explaining who I am and what I “have to do with anything”. This lead into an exchange of email information and marked the beginning of my job as “Web Content Manager” on 10-28-2007.
   In one of the early emails from Peter, I found out he needed a “real” photo of the Church building instead of the aerial shot he was using as a place filler on the prototype web page. On 10-15-07 I went out to the Church and took a series of photos of the exterior of the building, and submitted them to Peter on 10-19-2007 along with my introduction email. I also was at the Church on 10-19-2007 and took a series of photos of the interior of the church that will be used on the website in the near future.

   Peter added the new photo of the exterior of the Church and also the Church’s phone number to the front page. He also added more info to the “Contact Us” page and an “Images” page where some of the other exterior photos are displayed. The Church’s web site now has a permanent home at: http://www.resurrection-elca.com as of 10-20-2007.
   Please enjoy “wandering around” the web site and keep an eye out for changes as the site develops in the near future.
